Do steroids really allow baseball players to hit more home runs?

Because I thought steroids only strengthen muscles but dont make reflexes and coordination better.

It doesn’t help you hit the ball, but more strength means what would have been just deep fly ball outs were turned into homers. Plus they really speed the day to day healing process. No way would that old man Bonds have been able to recover like that day after day without the help of steroids.
