Can you fracture your shins?

i was playing volleyball in gym class last thursday and i dove and hit my shin hard on the metal pole, within hours it swelled to a size of a baseball. i iced and the swelling went down, im in constant pain even when do contact is hitting the shins sometimes the pain is so much but mostly its been constant.

Could be a fracture, yes.You could still walk on it if it was fractured. I’d see a doctor immediately. At least you know it’s not broken, because you wouldn’t be doing any walking if that was the case. If it’s fractured they will probably put you in a cast for up to 6 weeks.

Don’t leave it be though because if there is something wrong, prolonging treatment can make it much worse.
