Baseball problem…Help please?

Alright so i’m 16 years old and i can do pretty much everything in baseball. I can throw 80 mph. I just have one major problem. When warming up my arm(like before a game) i throw soft and i cannot hit the player i’m throwing to. When i throw hard, i get it there every time. But when i throw soft i’m so inaccurate. I have done everything to try to fix it. PLEASE TELL ME SOME SUGGESTIONS OR A FIX!!!!!!

It’s not an injury, but it is something in your mechanics. You’re simply having trouble finding your release point. I’m also guessing that, since you’re trying to throw the ball softly, you’re also using muscles trying to slow down your throws.

The best thing to do is this: Don’t throw softly. You see, everyone is not created equal. Some people are just stronger than others. At the college level, we don’t tell players to throw softly when they’re warming up because we realize that one player’s soft throw may be another player’s hard throw. It’s like jogging before you run. You’re jog may very well be faster than another person’s, but coaches don’t tell you to slow down, do they?

Just throw the ball hard enough to hit your partner. And long toss so you continue to strengthen that arm of yours.
