How to Use My Poor Man’s Batting Cage Instruction Guide
Why do parents abuse their babies?
As a first-time mommy, I go on YouTube to watch some guided videos on how to take care of newborns–I have a 4-week old girl. And for some videos, there has been comments on the newborn videos such as…
“babies are worthless, useless pieces of trash”
“i hate newborn babies…their sooo annoying”
“i know the correct way to calm a baby down, shake it violently, throw it against a wall, and hit it in the head with a bat 20 times and see if it shuts up.”
This makes me absolutely crazy! How can a person be so unkind and cruel to a child…nevertheless a helpless newborn?! Even if babies scream and cry, they can’t help it!
But my question is why do parents do this? Is it because of stress or because they just hate kids?
I personally tend to think like this. I don’t consider them “trash” though. I think people who think negatively about babies really lack maternal instincts which can happen a lot especially when you are not a mother, have never really been around children, and maybe associate them with how they poop, drool, cry, wake you up at night and vomit a lot – that stuff is pretty nasty. It is something they do not want to deal with – they see it as a nuisance not a little person with an individual personality.
Parents who hate their kids probably start off with these feelings, then just do not get strong protecting, loving feeling towards this pooping, screaming machine they can not understand and do not want to. A lot of mother’s today also work full time jobs and leave their babies with some hired nanny – is that really a whole lot better? How much time do you think they spend with their kids a week?
The truth is yes, babies are annoying but when you love them and love babies you realize that they are helpless and they need you – they cry because then need something, etc. Other people can not see this and do not care – it is not their responsibility and why should it be? “I have better things to do.” “This is too frustrating to me.” “It must end.”
