MLB:Pitching Arsenal: David Wells?
One of my favorite finesse pitchers are David Wells.
I always wanted to learn all the pitches that he knew.

2. Curveball (Pretty obvious…)

I must know all the pitches that he threw or he knows and uses.
To add to the above, I have seen David Wells throw a wicked curve to a plate crowding lefty hitter and he could throw it at three different speeds. The result was usually a strike or a weak ground ball to the right side of the infield. Plus I’ve seen him throw a “down and in splitter” for a crucial strikeout to either righty or lefty hitters, not a called strike, but a swinging strike. If you watched him carefully, he seemed to throw every pitch with the same deceptive motion.
